Most Common Fetishes

A fetish may be defined as the physical and sexual attraction for some specific part of the human body or inanimate object. Usually, the fetish doesn't represent something attractive to people in general, although being the fetishist's ultimate thrill. In theory, everything could be a fetish, and there may be people interested in fetishes as weird as outlandish. Though, there are things bound to become more popular as widespread, whether by sheer induction (in movies, magazines, music) or by turning "acceptable" in principle to society. Let's take a quick look at the most common fetishes of human sexuality.

- Foot Fetish - researches report that some foot fetishists have actually exact the same degree and response of sexual arousal as if looking to other person's genitals. And yet, scientists believe that the feet skin might as well secrete certain hormones released during sexual intercourse. Why only a few people would detect such hormones, it's something scientists cannot explain. Also, there's common leg fetish, of those into bootlegs, stockings, fishnets and the likes.

- Bondage and spanking - such widespread fetish, as of fetish stories. Bondage and spanking have strong connections with desires and sprees of dominance and submission. An erotic power-kick, this fetish leads some to play opposite roles in their relationships. Spanking in this case is not necessarily a synonym of pain, or at least unbearable pain. It's more focused on the role that each partner plays.

- Transvestism and Cross-dressing - it's a common fetish consisting of dressing and/or acting like the opposite sex in some specific occasions (sometimes even during sexual intercourse). It's frequently and mistakenly confounded with homosexualism, but in fact has no connection. A person may be a cross-dresser without feeling any sexual attraction towards the same sex and vice versa. Again, it has also to do with role-playing.

- Leather, rubber and fur - A fetish strongly connected with people's sense of touch. In addition, the feeling of tight and shiny rubber clothes drawing attention to details of the human figure. Something highly sexual for the fetishist and the not-so-sure as it happens.

Ultimately, common fetishes refer to specific body parts ranging from breasts and thighs to unusual places such as eyebrows, knees or ears.
