Porn addiction
may seem a funny term for those who don't understand how
destructive such a thing can be. In fact, porn addiction is a reality for thousand of people out there, and it's
an addiction in the same degree as alcoholism or smoking
for some people. Today, the internet is the biggest responsible
of the spreading of explicit sex content and facilitates
the access to such material. Although it's not the case
to blame the internet for helping in the spreading of
porn addiction as well, we need to understand that it's
the number one source from where people access this content.
Online pornography is today a huge business, dealing with
billions of dollars, and such as other businesses, they
are not interested in the consequences, they only show
you whatever that makes you come back and search for more.
The two main symptoms to determine
if someone is suffering from porn addiction are
in fact very subtle to the person herself, while in general
is clearly visible to the ones around them, family, friends
or co-workers.

- Sacrificing time and effort which was supposed to be
spent in work, family, friends, or other occupational
and recreational activities in order to seek for pornographic
content.
Some extreme cases of porn addiction end up with people losing their jobs or their wives
due to the constant and growing search for porn, which
may also obviously interfere on the sexual life
of the couple. In some even more extreme cases, the addict
starts to develop dangerous characteristics which include
sexual harassment and sexual assault tendencies.
Fortunately, from the same source
where the disease is, comes the healing. On the internet
we may find several websites of associations containing
information about porn addiction and offering help
to people suffering from such problem. Some of those organizations
offer programs of rehabilitation similar with the ones
used for actual drug addicts.
