Sexual
Deviations- Beyond The Limits Of Orgasm
By Claudio Cesar
de Souza
The boundaries between
normal and pathological in terms of human sexuality are the reasons of fierce arguments since the humankind
began to write history, as far back as five thousand years
ago. The term "sexual perversion", as
much as to call someone a pervert, in any given age has
always-derogatory connotation. Generating serious drawbacks
to those involved in such sexual practices, many
times taken adepts to prison or even leading to death.
Technically speaking,
a sexual relation is deemed perverted when implies
in some kind of bizarre behavior, whether illegal or place
in jeopardy the honor and the life of third parties'.
The term paraphylia
is employed other than sexual perversion or
sex deviation, which assumingly different forms of
expression.
In the realm of bizarre,
we find coprophilia and urophilia that entails feces and
urine respectively for reaching sexual heightening; clismaphilia
that suppose employs enemas-intestinal thrush devices,
for anal stimulation while inserting inside a water spray.
Necrophilia-excitement over cadavers; uroglagnia deriving
sexual pleasure from urination on someone or let
others to do so on you, bestiality sexual pleasure
obtained through sex with animals and the sapophilia
sexual pleasure derived from eating decomposed animals
and plants, to mention only a few.
In legal terms, the
pedophilia is sexual attraction of an adult
by pre-pubertal children, boys and girls, being currently
widely commented because of the Michel Jackson's trial.
Nonetheless, Michael Jackson shouldn't be regarded as
pedophile, but albeit, an ephebophilus, given that
ephebophilia is attraction by male youngsters, owing that
his prosecutors are usually older than 14yrs.
The sadomasochism
and the exhibitionism are also quite common paraphilia
in these days.
Sadism and
masochism compass those who come with pain-bear, humiliation
and violence against themselves and third parties, as
in exhibitionism, sexual pleasure lies in exposure
of nakedness or body parts to strangers, most of times
counting on the shock caused on those people as the deriving
source of sexual pleasure.
Generally, an individual
bearing some paraphilia has an exclusive relation with
such sexual practice, and needs that for sexual
satisfaction yielding, being impossible obtaining
the same effect via normal means. The question is, speaking
of sexuality; the so-called normal is arguably
highly dubious.
Homosexuality,
not before long, was classified in diagnostic manuals
as paraphylia, in that, only in and around the eighties'
being this term removed from up-to-date versions.
The Catholic Church,
for centuries in a row, classified as perverted, any given
sexual relation not aiming procreation. Throughout
history, girls aged 13, 14 used to marry much older men
with no further considerations as detrimental to their
development.
And the fetishism,
which is a fixation for a determined object or body part,
widely diffuse in the Brazilian culture through the backside
cult, or the overrated American breasts', fetish that
already incorporated in Brazil.
Concerns generated
by paraphylia being utterly remarked when embroiling illegalities,
as in pedophilia, or any given alternative sexual practice
performed under no consent of the other person involved.
Sadomasochists
found clubs where its adepts practice it freely. On the
same token, are the couple's swapping clubs, groups of
feet lovers, shoes, breasts and other fetishes.
The consensual practice,
in such cases, is by no means illegal. In case of bizarre
and limiting paraphylia, there can be brought into play,
more complex pathologies, being sexuality only
the backdrop for emotional questions that should be further
looked into by a specialist.
The bottom line is
that we in our vast majority all have a bit of perversion
within, seeing that sex is as dynamic cultural
expression as variable throughout the times and cultures.
Most of sexual
fantasies are lived up to under the guise of sexual
fantasy that, most of times, are solely accessories
in our sexual life and bound to be explored accordingly
to each one's limitations.
It only constitutes
a real problem when crossing boundaries of illegality
or sufferance demanding, humiliation or handicaps in life.
